2.4 Earthquake Rattles South Los Angeles
Thursday morning, a 2.4 earthquake rattled residents of South Los Angeles at 6:58 AM. The quake occurred near Stocker Street in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area. The temblor was registered at 4.5 miles below the surface.
This isn’t the first earthquake to strike the area recently –in fact, there have been two earthquakes ranging in a 3.0 magnitude or greater in the past 10 days.
Quakes of this size are quite common in Los Angeles though. On average, there are 59 earthquakes between a 2.0 and 3.0 magnitude in L.A. each year.
